Day 12 - Prayerlessness

Little Fox

Luke 21:36

Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.

As we persist in fervent prayer for our families and address the subtle threats that have marred our spiritual landscape, let me now draw attention to the concerning issue of families that lack a consistent practice of prayer. Neglecting prayer within families is akin to allowing a subtle yet potent fox to infiltrate the spiritual landscape of the household. The misconception that weekly visits to church or sporadic prayer sessions are enough often blinds individuals to the impact of consistent and fervent communication with God. Jesus, in His teachings, emphasized the need to "watch and pray,"  while Paul underscored the importance of daily communion with God.(1.Thes. 5:17)

Imagine prayer as the lifeline that maintains a continuous and intimate connection between family members and their heavenly Father. In a human relationship, communication is the thread that weaves hearts together. Any disruption or barrier in communication creates distance and misunderstanding. Similarly, in our relationship with God, prayer serves as the channel through which we bridge the gap and draw near to His presence. Satan, ever watchful for opportunities to sow discord, particularly delights in disrupting the vital communication link between individuals and their heavenly Father.

As we reflect on the significance of prayer, let us repent for any indifference or neglect that may have allowed this vital lifeline to fray. Recognizing that Satan strategically targets our prayer lives to create distance, we stand firm in resisting his schemes.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, ignite within us a fervent desire to engage in consistent, heartfelt prayer both individually and collectively as a family. We declare our homes to be sanctuaries of prayer, where the spirit of prayerlessness finds no foothold. Grant us, Lord, the discipline and commitment to follow the example of Christ and the apostles, watching and praying without ceasing.Strengthen our resolve to maintain an open line of communication with You. In Christ's name we ask. Amen
